A team of official from central bank Nigeria Abuja (CBN) and Director General Sokoto State Small And Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SOSMEDA) on a 2 day survey on leather production process in Sokkto State.
The objective is to develop a strategic initiative to drive and align the sector with the current vision of the Federal Government of catalyzing the economy and engendering growth on Financial Systems Strategy vision 2020 (FSS).
The highly organized tour covered the State abattoir, preservation areas, the local tannery and the finishing sectors. The finishing sectors are most impressive and highly commendable as women cooperative groups were actively engaged in designing the leather.
This will no doubt compliment the effort of the present administration of Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for bringing Development partners (UNIDO) on a plan to revitalize leather industry, produce packages and market sokoto leather work for export.
